About William Andersen, D.O.

William Andersen, D.O.

I practice Osteopathy in the Cranial Field, following in the footsteps of the great innovators of the practice; Doctors A.T. Still, MD, William Garner Sutherland, DO, Anne Wales, DO, and Tom Shaver, DO; all osteopathic physicians who were/are dedicated to the concepts of mind, body, and spirit medicine and to integrating them all, in order to help patients heal themselves.

My career path started at Memphis State University with an undergraduate degree (BS) in Biology and Chemistry. I then served as a medic in the Air Force. Before attending medical school I felt a calling to follow my childhood dreams and learn to fly. I flew as a professional corporate pilot in both airplanes and helicopters for approximately 6 years, after which I attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine from which I earned my medical degree.

Following medical school, I attended the University of South Carolina Internal Medicine Residency Program for four years. During that time I was in the SC Army Reserves as a Flight Surgeon, caring for helicopter pilots.

I have always practiced using osteopathic manipulation. Since 2002 I have committed to the full time practice of Osteopathy in the Cranial Field (what by some might be called energy work), and working with, and being open to many traditions and philosophies committed to health and wellness. This energy work is about the intelligence of the fluids as they move throughout the body, and is a powerful modality for healing.
